Cartwright may be best known as one of the UK’s largest body and trailer manufacturers but its expanding Rentals division, with a diverse fleet of over 5000 trailers, can now boast over 1000 rental trailers compliant with EN12642XL accreditation.
As the company’s Group Sales Director Darren Holland explained: “Our natural replacement into the rentals fleet is for trailers coming back. “We are already accredited on our trailer type for EN compliance. The big thing with EN compliance is that it is not just the curtains that have to be load bearing but also the chassis, the front, rear and the roof of the trailer.”
Darren Holland said that as Cartwright already knows that its trailers are compliant when they come back to the company from the finance arm of the business, an EN compliant curtain is fitted and EN12642XL compliant trailers then go back into the rental fleet. “This benefit of having the trailer compliant to EN12642XL can be shared whether they own it or rent it, he said. Darren Holland added: “It is a massive issue and as a business we are converting more and more trailers to EN compliance. Where specified our trailers will carry the EN badge at the back. This means that the trailers retain the load, coupled with the load being restrained correctly using cargo restrain systems, this gives complete compliance.”
