Cartwright recently exhibited its new ambulance at the NAPFM Blue and Amber Light Fleet Exhibition.
The Cartwright ambulance which was on display is based on the Mercedes van conversion and has just received M1 Special Purpose Type Approval. The manufacturer, which has recently won a major order for 21 ambulances from the Yorkshire Ambulance Service, was exhibiting at the event for the first time and enjoyed a great deal of interest from a cross section of the emergency services, local authorities and government departments.
The National Association of Police Fleet Managers event, over two days at the International Centre in Telford, is now in its 40th year and is recognised as the oldest and one of the largest emergency service fleet events in Europe. Darren Maybury, of Cartwright, commented: “The Cartwright stand was busy on both days and there was a great deal of interest in the ambulance despite the fact that a lot of people were not aware that we are now building ambulances. Many people were very interested in our build for the Yorkshire Ambulance Service.”
He added: “We currently have four demonstrator ambulances in build and also a modular chassis cab type build. We have invested heavily in this design also.”
